US economic growth accelerated in Q2, to an annualised 2.3%, data from the Commerce Department showed.
Q1 data was revised higher, to 0.6% growth from the originally reported 0.2% contraction.
The strengthening economy will increase speculation about a Federal Reserve rate rise at its September meeting. The central bank left rates unchanged near zero at this week’s meeting.
