US Fed minutes show members cautious about rate rises

The minutes of the US Federal Reserve’s June meeting were broadly positive about the state of the economy, although many members of the Federal Open Market Committee continue to want further evidence of its strength.

FOMC members are divided over how many, if any, rate rises there should be this year, while interest rate projections are now showing a lower trajectory than was previously the case.

The minutes noted the potential for the situation with Greece to impact markets and spill over to the US.
