US cosmetics retailer Morphe is under offer to take store spaces at Westfield Stratford City, E20, and Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre, as it prepares its bricks-and-mortar launch in the UK.
If the agreements are finalised, the stores are expected to open in the early autumn at both locations.
The brand plans to expand in the UK, targeting six to eight store openings in 2019.
Morphe is aiming for prime units of a minimum of 3,200 sq ft at ground floor level.
There are 15 target locations on its radar, including Bluewater in Kent and the intu Metrocentre in Gateshead, as well as sites in Glasgow, Dublin and Leeds.
In London, it is exploring options in Covent Garden, WC2, Oxford Street, W1, and Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush,W12.
The brand has appointed McDevitt to advise on its UK store strategy. All parties declined to comment.
What is Morphe?
Founded in 2008 in LA by siblings Chris and Linda Tawil, the business began operating as an e-tailer before embarking on a bricks-and-mortar roll-out across the US in recent months.
It made its first foray in the British market when it launched a UK website in November 2017.
The beauty company, which does not disclose its financial performance, drives sales through social media and marketing through influencers.
