Houston-based oil exploration firm Anadarko has agreed a five-year sub-lease with BP Exploration for the remaining 4,412sq m (45,000sq ft) at Uxbridge One, Land Securities’ landmark office building in Uxbridge, west London.
BP, advised by DTZ Debenham Thorpe and PSK Knighton, was quoting a rent of £236.81 per sq m (£22.00 per sq ft). According to Stephen Chesterman, of PSK, the achieved rent was “very close” to the asking figure.BP has a lease on the entire building.
Anadarko is believed to have initially considered taking space at Farnborough Aerospace Centre. The company, which was advised by Hillier Parker, needs the space quickly to service the development of an oilfield in Algeria. Staff will begin arriving from the USA shortly and others will be recruited in this country.
