A University Technical College has been approved that will serve as the first tenant on a major Warrington regeneration.
The Baker Deering Trust-backed UTC was approved by central government today, and will anchor the £190m Stadium Quarter in Warrington.
It will be run by the University of Chester, occupying a vacant site opposite Warrington’s Central Station, owned by the council.
A masterplan for 90 acres of office, leisure, and residential space was published last year, with Liverpool developer Illiad lined up as a prospective partner.
The college will focus on the energy and engineering sectors.
