Commercial Estates Group’s plans for the redevelopment of an office block, known as Uxbridge Plaza, in Ealing, W5, have been approved by the local council.
CEG manages ASE II Ealing, which has owned the building since 1997. It was refurbished to grade-A office standard in 2017, but the new proposals, designed by Corstorphine & Wright, feature a mixture of student accommodation and offices, as well as extensive public realm and improvements to both the St Leonard’s and Uxbridge Road frontages.
The scheme will deliver 504 student homes and 60,000 sq ft of flexible office space alongside co-working space to support start-ups and entrepreneurs. The flexible amenity space on the corner of St Leonard’s and Uxbridge Road will act as an extension of the internal amenity space for students.
The development is expected to bring an annual net additional contribution of £68.9m GVA to the Greater London economy, including £53.3m concentrated in Ealing.
Savills advised on planning matters.
