In a move calculated to maintain independence from the ever-growing institutional presence in the agency sector, L S Vail and Pearson Williams are to merge from January 1 1988.
The new firm, to be known as Vail Williams, will have 13 partners and a total staff of 75, operating from six offices and covering an area from south Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire to the Solent. L S Vail’s offices in Southampton, Fareham and Basingstoke will now link up with those of Pearson Williams in Camberley, Bracknell and Reading.
Vail Williams hope to take advantage of their location between three of the most economically vibrant motorway corridors in the country — the M4, M3 and M27 — as well as the M40 and the western quadrant of the M25.
Among Vail Williams’ clients can now be numbered Arlington Securities, Percy Bilton, Capital & Counties, Heron Hi-tech, Hunting Gate, LET, Rosehaugh, Speyhawk and London & Metropolitan.
Institutional clients include Abbey Life, Norwich Union, Royal London and Sun Alliance.
