Valad Europe has strengthened its senior management with a series of appointments across the continent.

Audrey Klein has been appointed as head of equity and will help the firm develop its discretionary capital requirements. Klein was previously a senior managing director with Aerium and a founder of Park Hill Real Estate, the capital raising subsidiary of Blackstone.

Tomas Beck joins the company from Swedish pension fund AP1 to become head of Nordics.

Dennis Börgel is to be the head of business development with a focus on Germany. He joins after a 15-year career with JLL’s portfolio investment team and previously Cushman & Wakefield’s head of real estate corporate finance.

The company has also made some internal promotions. Christian Bearman will become head of business development and private equity and Rob Cotterell has become head of transactions.

Simon Marriott has added head of investments to his current role as head of UK real estate and Thomas Gurski has been made head of asset management in Germany.

David Kirkby, CEO of Valad Europe, said: “These new appointments clearly signal our intention, as part of Cromwell Property Group’s global real estate investment strategy, to continue growing and expanding our European platform, both in terms of capital-raising ability and our reach into new geographic regions. In Europe, we have identified several investment themes spanning the core, core-plus and value-add sectors, which we are targeting at our existing investor base as well as institutional investors in Asia.

“It is also pleasing to announce the promotions of so many of the existing team, who have contributed to the growth of the business over the past few years.”
