Sunderland-based brewing company Vaux is about to sell its St Andrews nursing home division to the privately-owned Highfield group for around £40m.
The division comprises 36 nursing homes in the Midlands and the north. An announcement is expected with Vaux’s full-year results tomorrow, although the sale is unlikely to be completed before Christmas.
The proceeds will be invested in Vaux’s pubs, breweries and the Swallow hotel chain.
