US-based REIT Ventas has purchased five care homes in Sussex and Kent, formerly owned by Canford Healthcare, for more than £50m.
The properties in Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Bexhill and two in Eastbourne, total 311 beds.
Canford’s management team has acquired the entire share capital of Canford and will continue to operate the homes, which have been leased back.
JLL provided corporate, financial and real estate advice to Ventas for the transaction.
