Vermont secures second Ramada deal for Liverpool scheme

US hotel operator Ramada is to manage and operate 66 flats at the third phase of Vermont Developments’  £100m Liverpool scheme, The Quarter.

Corinthia Hotels International (CHI), the European joint venture partner of the Ramada Group, will service the “apartment-suites” alongside the four-star Ramada Plaza hotel, which is already being built on the site.

The deal has been agreed on the basis of a 20-year lease.

The units are located in the tower element of scheme, at the junction of Sefton Street and Parliament Street, which features 112 flats in a 22-storey building.

Mark Connor, chief executive of Vermont Developments, said: “Given the challenging residential sales market, achieving an agreement to operate these units on a serviced basis is obviously welcome news and a testament to our vision for The Quarter, and also the confidence shared by our hotel operator.”

The developer says 83% of the 187 first phase flats have been sold.

The Quarter is a joint venture between Vermont Developments and Ethel Austin Properties, which are both based in Liverpool.
