Vestas will open a £9.5m plant producing wind turbines at the former Machrihanish Royal Air Force base at Campletown, on the Mull of Kintyre, Scotland.
The Danish company will lease the factory from Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
It will be Britains first large-scale wind turbine manufacturing plant.
