VIDEO: Cycle to MAPIC 2016

Girona in Spain to Cannes in France. Four days, some 40 riders, 700km and almost 6,000m of elevation. It is fast becoming the only way to get to MAPIC.

Sponsored by King’s Cross, organised by Club Peloton, supported by Nash Bond, Citygrove and Broadgate Estates, and raising money for Coram, this year’s ride featured former Tour de France cyclists – the one and only David Miller just about kept up with the pace for the first hour or so out of Girona – the odd downpour, and a few halts in our uber-slick peloton riding by a parade of classic cars and a stampede of wild (and rather large) horses.

While networking remains an important part of this annual pilgrimage to Cannes, the purpose is much bigger than that. Every year the riders hear the upsetting stories that the team at Coram have to deal with every day. Children born into abuse, abandoned and discarded as being beyond help. But every year, those riders also help turn so many of those stories around and transform them into stories of hope, of laughter and happiness.

So far this year, the King’s Cross Cycle to MAPIC has raised more than £40,000. To help push the total to £50,000 and turn even more of those stories around visit https://race-nation.com/sponsorslist/248/entries
