As a cycling enthusiast, the portability of new technology interests me. I harbour this fantasy of the ecologically friendly consultant arriving by bicycle at the client’s office, complete with notebook computer, portable cell-phone and lightweight audio tape recorder. However, we live in a world where such eccentric behaviour would probably give the client sufficient excuse to employ someone else!
Nevertheless, portability is still an important consideration. Thus, Sony’s recently introduced Video Walkman should appeal to those involved in marketing property.
The Sony GV 300 Video Walkman is based on Sony’s 8mm video cassette. It consists of a 4in colour LCD screen, AFM Hi-Fi stereo sound and built-in VHF/UHF tuner. In addition to recording television programmes, the user may play back tapes recorded using Sony’s lightweight CCD G100ST colour camera.
