Vine Cross Investments has secured planning permission for a 130,000 sq ft (12,077 sq m) DIY store and garden centre in Fleetwood.
The retail development will create around 150 jobs on Amounderness Way, the main route into the North-West town.
Permission has been granted for 90,000 sq ft (8,361 sq m) of DIY retail, a 25,000 sq ft (2,322 sq m) garden centre and 15,000 sq ft (1,393 sq m) of car parking.
Approval to build on the site, which is opposite the popular Freeport Designer Outlet, was granted by the local authority following a retail study by DTZ Pieda Consulting.
DTZ Debenham Tie Leung retail director Eddy Cottrell said: “This part of Fleetwood has a great deal of potential for expanding the retail offering.
“We conducted assessments relating to the environmental impact and the sustainability of the site in order to secure the planning permission for our client.”
The £10m scheme is due to start on site early next year with completion set for the summer of 2004.
