Virgin Our Price is taking a 743sq m (8,000sq ft) new two-level store in the redevelopment of the former Westminster Press offices and printing plant at 13/15 Coney Street, York..
The adjoining unit has been let to Whittards. Guy Wallace, of Conrad Ritblat, which is advising Westminster Press, says the two retailers are paying a combined initial rent of £245,000 which equates to about £1,453per sq m (£135 per sq ft) Zone A.
“This consolidates the top end of Coney Street, particularly with the Scottish Widows’ scheme at Debenhams next door,” he said. Terms have been agreed with a major pub operator for the rear of the Westminster Press site, he added.
