A new joint venture between O2 owner Telefónica and Vodafone has gone under offer for a headquarters at Hermes’ 100 New Oxford Street, WC1.
Weave (formerly Project Oscar) which is advised by Cluttons, is set to sign the first deal at Hermes’ 56,000 sq ft building. It is understood to have agreed a 10-year lease for 20,000 sq ft, paying close to £60 per sq ft.
The joint venture plans to develop a smartphone app to replace cash and credit cards.
It is one of several occupiers to secure space in the West End totalling more than 70,000 sq ft this week.
In WC2, online gaming business King.com has agreed to sublet Specific Media’s 25,000 sq ft on the top floor of the Central St Giles building.
Elsewhere, Box.com, Saudi Aramco and Talon Outdoors have all signed for a total of 26,000 sq ft in W1.
