Andrew Davis, who founded the group, would technically be entitled to charge any new owners a fee for access to a thin strip of land believed to be between the 360-acre Mendip Hills estate and the road. Meanwhile, Longleat has bought Bishopstrow House from administrators, which is near its Wiltshire safari and leisure attraction, for an estimated £5m.
