Wagamama spree continues with Leeds opening

Japanese restaurant Wagamama is set to open at the Springs retail and leisure centre in Thorpe Park, Leeds.

The deal for the 3,482 sq ft outlet was agreed for 15 years. It will be located opposite Odeon and Nandos venues.

The restaurant will open in October, providing 120 internal covers and 30 external covers.

The Springs, developed and asset managed by Scarborough Group International, is Wagamama’s 10th new opening in 2024, taking its total number of locations across the UK to 169.

Rachel Vickers, senior commercial manager at Scarborough, said: “The Springs is one the best-performing out-of-town locations across the entire UK for many of our store operators. This is because we have a transient visitor profile as well as an established working community of over 7,500 people on the business park. New neighbouring residential communities, both existing and planned, alongside 150 acres of community parkland and green open spaces, make our offer even more compelling.”

The deal with Wagamama follows a series of new openings at the Springs – a 350,000 sq ft shopping and leisure attraction at junction 46 of the M1 – with Starbucks, TUI, Hotel Chocolat and frozen food specialist Cook being the most recent. Pret a Manger and Loungers opened last year.
