Waitrose to get first dot.com shed

Evander Properties has signed a deal with Waitrose to develop the supermarket giant’s first dot.com warehouse.

Construction is expected to begin in January 2014 on the 90,000 sq ft, £30m warehouse in Coulsdon, south London.

The development will be funded and owned by the British Airways Pension Fund.

Evander and the BAPF previously worked together on a 420,000 sq ft regional distribution centre for Waitrose at Matrix Park in Chorley.

Evander director Neil Dickinson said: “Repeat business is the best business and this project further underscores Evander’s ability to respond quickly to our customers’ requirements and endorses the quality of the Evander product.”

Dowley Turner Real Estate represented Evander and BAPF; Colliers International acted for Waitrose.
