Waitrose have purchased a supermarket site in the centre of Thame in Oxfordshire from Peel South West. The land extends to 3.75 acres and lies on North Street and Bell Lane, behind the High Street.
Planning consent exists for a 28,500-sq ft supermarket with parking for 200 cars. Waitrose hope to have the new store trading by the end of 1991.
Peel South West — a Peel Holdings subsidiary — assembled the site, which was originally split between four owners. Best Gapp & Cassells acted on behalf of one of the landowners.
