Wakefield East site rebranded as City Fields

Keyland Developments has sold its Wakefield East site in West Yorkshire to Opus North and Bridges Fund Management.

The site comes with plans for the 31-acre industrial scheme, now branded City Fields, which was recently submitted by Keyland.

The new development is expected to total up to 500,000 sq ft of urban logistics space and warehouses with a GDV of £65m. There is also potential for the development of a trade counter scheme and associated pub, restaurant and drive-thru options.

Works are expected to start onsite in early 2023, with a targeted completion of the first shed later that year.

Ryan Unsworth, development director of Opus North, said: “The surrounding area has witnessed a surge in investment and regeneration, and the development of this site will make a further economic contribution.”

Appointed agents Avison Young and Knight Frank facilitated the sale of the land on behalf of Keyland, with Square One Law acting as legal team.  Carter Towler and Walker Morris advised Opus North and Bridges.
