The House Builders’ Federation says Wales is heading for a housing crisis as stocks start to run out.
It says each new home will have to last 2,000 years at current replacement rates.
Some 8.5% of housing stock in Wales is classified as “unfit” with a total repair bill of £1bn and 4% derelict.
Meanwhile London mayor Ken Livingstone is trying to ensure most new homes in the capital are powered by solar panels.
