Wales wins £190m over three years from EU

Over the next three years, the European Union will transfer to Wales grants worth £190m for a series of economic regeneration and job creation programmes. About £178m has been specifically earmarked for South Wales. Another £600m is expected to come from the private sector. Most of the money will go towards revitalising former coal and steel communities in urban areas and on kick-starting self-sustaining community projects in rural Wales.
