Montagu Evans head of City and West End agency Martin Wallace has been appointed head of leasing at Brookfield Office Properties.
Montagu Evans managing partner Steve Thomas confirmed the move and said he hoped it would create opportunities for the company.
“Martin’s move to Brookfield is testimony to his qualities. We regard this very positively and wish Martin well in his new position where we hope to work closely with him in the future”.
Wallace takes on the role in the wake of Brookfield’s purchase of the bulk of Hammerson’s central London office portfolio, including the development opportunity London Wall Place.
Brookfield senior vice-president of development and investment Martin Jepson said: “Coupled with our existing investment in 100 Bishopsgate, Brookfield now has a significant presence in the City of London’s office market via the acquisition of the Hammerson portfolio and we are committed to optimising returns from this exciting deal. Martin’s expertise is key to achieving this objective”.
Wallace leaves Montagu Evans after a period of rapid expansion in the company’s city team.
It has grown from four to 16 people in the past 12 months, including the appointments of former Drivers Jonas Deloitte head of City investment and agency Tony Lander and West End specialists Rob Skioldebrand, Mark Candler and Matthew Jackson from Jones Lang LaSalle.
Wallace added: “I have greatly enjoyed my time at Montagu Evans and am grateful for all the support I have received in partnership there. I could not have furthered my career to this stage without my time at the firm and I am very much looking forward to working closely with the business, as well as my established network of City contacts”.
Thomas said Montagu Evans would look to make further appointments in the team.
