Walsall pub scoops rarely-won award

The Wharf pub in Walsall, West Midlands, has won the Campaign for Real Ale/English Heritage awards’ new pub prize.

The prize has only been won once before in the awards- 16-year history.

It is described as a glass-fronted building, using Scandinavian-style pale wood and a back-to-basics approach to fixtures and fittings.
