Post-auction offers have been “bubbling away” after Maidstone-based Ward & Partners sold only 54% of the lots at its £2.3m auction last week.
Office manager Kim Norton said that four post-sales had already been concluded, with another four likely to be tied up by the end of the week, which would take the success rate up to 71%.
“The majority of lots that didn’t sell were just short of reserve, although there were a couple where vendors should have been keener on reserves and guides,” she said. “A lot of them were as little as £500 short, so I am confident we will tie up deals after auction.”
Among the highlights was a terraced house in Toronto Road, Gillingham that sold for “an astonishing” £115,000 against a guide of £75,000-plus, and a bungalow in Herne Bay that beat its £125,000 guide to sell for £171,000.
