Warehouse developers are introducing football pitches, ice cream vans and beehives to lure workers to industrial sites.
Developers say they are seeing demand from warehouse operators across Europe for investments in entertainment, food and other facilities more commonly offered by higher-paying white-collar employers.
Prologis said it had built basketball, tennis and football courts near warehouses, while sites across France and the Netherlands have included beehives, with the honey shared with workers. In Slovakia and the Czech Republic, ice cream vans also brought cold treats to labourers this summer, it added.
