Warehouse REIT has appointed a new head of project management as it seeks to build out its 2.5m sq ft development pipeline.
The e-commerce urban and last-mile industrial warehouse investor has appointed Dan March to the role. March joins from Chancerygate, where he was a project manager. Prior to Chancerygate, March worked at Lambert Smith Hampton, Workman and Anderton Gables.
He will report directly to managing director Andrew Bird and investment director Paul Makin.
As head of project management, March will be responsible for bringing forward Warehouse REIT’s £250m development pipeline and will be responsible for overseeing the redevelopment and refurbishment programme across its current 8.6m sq ft portfolio. Key to his role will be improving the portfolio’s sustainability credentials, employing the latest in building design and construction methods, and working with occupiers to improve environmental performance, including EPC ratings.
Makin said: “The company’s strategic development initiatives will continue to support the core focus of acquiring and improving the portfolio’s income profile. The company has a mix of near-and-medium-term value enhancing schemes in its pipeline, including development opportunities on adjacent land to existing assets, which offer the opportunity to generate a significant yield on cost.
“Central to the capital expenditure programme is ensuring the company has a modern, fit-for-purpose portfolio that meets the occupiers’ needs while aligning with the company’s sustainability agenda. Dan’s experience will be invaluable to ensuring we deliver on this.”
