The Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership has put forward the stalled £1.2bn Omega development in Warrington as a potential Enterprise Zone.
Last year, Miller Developments, preferred developer for the site’s owner, the Homes and Communities Agency, announced that Omega – located at the former Burtonwood World War Two airbase – would be redesigned.
Miller, and backer RBS, were appointed in 2001 to bring forward a 7m sq ft office and industrial park on the site, but the scheme is now expected to contain a significant residential element.
