Final planning permission has been secured for the development of Top Farm scheme in Weddington, Warwickshire.
The scheme comprises up to 1,700 homes, new primary and secondary schools, and community facilities. It will be delivered by a joint venture between Warwickshire County Council, Warwickshire Property & Development Group and Countryside Partnerships.
The move follows a conditional approval of project in May, with the jv reaching an agreement to contribute more than £25m to enhance the local community infrastructure, including £10.5m towards education and £6.7m towards highways improvements.
Construction of the first phase is expected to start in Autumn.
John Gregory, partner and head of planning at Wright Hassall, the lawyers on the project, said: “It not only secures much-needed housing for the area, 25% of which will be in the form of affordable housing, but also the provision of land for the development of new leisure and education facilities for the community.”
