FTSE 250 developer Watkin Jones has received consent from Birmingham City Council for its largest scheme to date, at the 551-home Makers Yard.
The scheme designed by Glenn Howells is expected to complete by 2025.
It will see six blocks at the northern end of Sherlock Street, on a 2.47-acre site, within 500m of the city’s iconic Bull Ring shopping centre and New Street Station, in the Rea Valley quarter.
Alex Pease, chief investment officer of Watkin Jones, said: “Birmingham’s dynamism and central location puts it in a really strong place to grow after the pandemic.
“But to keep cities desirable as places to live we must continue to attract long-term institutional investment into creating homes that offer an amazing living experience.”
Turley advised on planning.
