Watkin Jones has been granted planning consent for three student accommodation and three build-to-rent developments across the UK.
The developer was granted consent on two student housing schemes in London and one in Chester, totalling total of 959 beds.
These were a 283-bed development at Albion Way in Wembley, a 353-bed development at Forest Road in Walthamstow and a 323-bed development in Chester. Each of these is expected to be completed ahead of the 2020-21 academic year.
Watkin Jones also secured planning consent on 147 build-to-rent homes at Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth, an increase from 132 to 165 homes on its Sutton site, and 62 homes at Stepney Street, Sheffield.
It also exchanged contracts on a build-to-rent development site in Uxbridge, which will deliver about 270 homes, subject to planning consent.
Mark Watkin Jones, chief executive of Watkin Jones, said: “The group is continuing to deliver in the UK student accommodation sector and these schemes will increase our presence in key markets nationally, including our first site in West London.
“Build to rent is progressing well and we are extremely pleased with this division’s performance in its maiden year. The additional planning consents and securing of the site in Uxbridge strengthens our pipeline as we continue to target the development of around 1,5000 units between FY18 and FY22.”
