Watkin Jones flotation raises £131m

GSA-Dublin-student-digsStudent housing developer Watkin Jones has floated on the AIM, raising £131m.

The company started developing student property in 1999 and has since developed 28,000 beds across the UK with a further 11,300 in the pipeline.

The company, advised by Peel Hunt and Zeus Capital, placed 133.3m shares into AIM at 100p each.

The pricing gives Watkin Jones a market capitalisation of £255m.

The proceeds from the flotation will fund the expansion of the business, reward management and staff and release the equity held by existing shareholders.

Watkin Jones will trade under the ticker WJG.
