We spotted problems at Woodford fund two years ago, says FCA chief

Neil Woodford was “sailing close to the wind” more than a year ago and should have talked to regulators then, the head of the chief City watchdog told MPs yesterday.

Andrew Bailey, chief executive of the Financial Conduct Authority, accused Mr Woodford’s business Woodford Investment Management of indulging in “regulatory arbitrage” to sidestep rules on fund liquidity.
