Weibo to get Scottish property page

Scottish_Flag_THUMB.jpegDougraySmith is to launch a Scottish property news page on China micro blogging platform Weibo.

The Scotland-based niche investment and development property adviser will launch its social media platform, Scottish Property Experts, on Monday with the aim of meeting Chinese demand for property services in Scotland.

Weibo, which has been described as China’s version of Facebook, is one of the most popular sites in China, with more than 176m users, of which more than 90% visit the site more than three times a week.

DougraySmith’s platform has been developed with digital marketing partner Digiology China.

Kelvin Chan of Digiology China said: “We have had a deep involvement in the Chinese digital market, most noticeably on the Scottish government’s recent Unique Events Blogmanay campaign, where we generated 21.6m Chinese views of Hogmanay and wider Scottish life in 10 days.

“We felt the matching of our skill set to DougraySmith’s position in the China-facing property market was a perfect fit.”

David Melhuish of the Scottish Property Federation said: “There is no doubting that there is growing interest in Scottish real estate from Chinese investors and developers and of course we have witnessed growing investment in both London and Manchester over the last 24 months.  The DougraySmith and Digiology proposition is likely to meet with real interest.”
