Weightmans and Mace & Jones are in talks with Bruntwood for 90,000 sq ft of offices in The Plaza, Liverpool.
The two Liverpool-based law firms today announced that they have agreed to merge.
Weightmans has a long-standing requirement for around 70,000 sq ft in the city, but is understood to have increased the amount of space it is seeking following the merger.
Despite shortlisting several buildings, including space at English Cities Fund’s St Paul’s Square scheme, Weightmans has been linked to The Plaza – the former headquarters of Littlewoods – in recent months.
The firm is based in Green Property’s India Buildings, while Mace & Jones is based on the city’s Water Street.
