An 11-acre country estate in Caernarfon, North Wales, which could be developed as a hotel and leisure scheme, has gone into receivership.
North West-based agency David Currie & Co has been appointed LPA receiver of the Plas Brereton Estate, which is estimated to be worth in excess of £1m.
The site comprises a manor house, a disused railway line, plus buildings including stables and a private dock. The site has been subject to two separate planning consents for a hotel and leisure complex, the most recent expiring earlier this year.
David Currie, of David Currie & Co, said: “The Plas Brereton property is one of the more unusual appointments we see as LPA receivers, and the views from the river banks and its proximity to the famous town of Caernarfon, make the site of great interest to developers and hotel companies, despite its need for complete renovation.”
