A proposal to demolish and redevelop a West End block into 76 flats has been approved.
PCW Development Holdings, advised by DP9, got consent for the scheme, which would involve the demolition of 16, 18-25 and 26 Park Crescent, W1, and the partial demolition of 77-81 Portland Place, W1.
The plans call for reinstating a Grade I listed Park Crescent façade to create the residential units and building nine new mews properties.
The scheme was originally granted permission in October 2015 but was revised so the £359,999 public realm contribution could be rolled into the CIL payment that now applies.
But councillor Robert Davis insisted on the reinstatement of the contribution on top of the CIL payment.
The committee, on the chairman’s casting vote, allowed the £8.9m affordable housing contribution for the Park Crescent scheme to be phased: a third upon commencement of works, a third after 18 months and a third upon occupation.
