The US Private equity fund Westbrook Partners has sold the New Era Estate in Hackney to the Dolphin Square Charitable Foundation.
Westbrook had wanted to raise the rents in the estate to market levels, but a recent wave of protests and intervention from politicians has led to the sale instead.
It is thought to be in the region of £20m
