A consortium comprising Westbury, Bovis Homes and Keepmoat has been selected as preferred developer for a £300m housing-led regeneration of Coventry’s north-east quarter.
The consortium beat two unnamed shortlisted consortiums.
The scheme comprises more than 3,000 new and refurbished homes, including 1,000 for social rent and 200-250 for affordable home ownership, as well as roads, open spaces and play areas.
The consortium was selected by the Masterplanning Partnership, comprising Coventry New Deal for Communities, a government funded community-led initiative aimed at improving neglected and disadvantaged areas, Whitefriars Housing Group and Coventry council.
Westbury’s deputy chief executive Nigel Fee said: “Schemes such as this will complement our growth strategy for our core private housebuilding business to significantly increase volumes within the next five years.”
