Westbury Homes has beaten off competition from Bellway Homes, Lovell and Morris Homes to become the preferred developer for an English Partnerships (EP) residential scheme in Shropshire.
The Park Lane project will see 176 homes built on a 17-acre site at Madeley, currently occupied by 350 deck-access flats built in the 1970s.
Ashley Lane, director of Westbury’s partnership division, says the project will ultimately form the heart of wider regeneration designed to bring 3,000 homes to the area.
EP’s area director Peter Murray envisages a detailed planning application being submitted in early summer 2006, but has no forecast when site work might begin.
