Westbury plans growth in the South after profits rise

Housebuilder Westbury this morning posted a 29% hike in pre-tax profits to £93m for the year ended February 2003.

Turnover was up by 41% – from £560.1m to £790.9m – on the group’s 2002 results.

The increases were driven by the group’s Westbury Homes division, which saw a pre-tax operating profits hike of 40% to £117.3m.

The company, which bought rival housebuilder Prowting for £141m last year, has a land bank of 39,100 plots and plans to expand in the South and South East of England.
