Westfield founder Frank Lowy, who is interviewed in The Times, comments on speculation he will try to bid for Liberty International.
He says: “There is no substance to what is being written about Liberty and Westfield.”
However, Westfield, which owns nine shopping centres in the UK, does not plan to stop with its involvement in the Chelsfield takeover. Lowry tells the newspaper: “Wherever there is a shopping mall available we would like to negotiate for it.”
