Westfield secures M&S for Derby scheme

Australian shopping centre giant Westfield has signed Marks & Spencer to its £340m Westfield Derby shopping centre in the East Midlands.

The retailer joins Debenhams as an anchor for the scheme and will consolidate its existing stores on St Peter’s Street and Cornmarket in the new 81,700 sq ft store.

Other confirmed signings at the 1m sq ft retail and leisure scheme include H&M, Monsoon, Accessorize, Beaverbrooks, 3G, New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Zara, Bershka, Topshop and Next.

The development will include more than 100 retail units over three floors, an 800-seat food-court, a 12 screen Cinema de Lux and 3,700 covered parking spaces.

The Westfield Derby is owned by the Wilmslow Limited Partnership, a joint venture between Westfield Holdings Limited and Hermes Property Asset Management on behalf of the British Telecom Pension Scheme (BTPS) managed by Hermes.
