Westfield signs Republic in Belfast

Fashion retailer Republic has secured its first store in Northern Ireland at Westfield and Hermes’ CastleCourt shopping centre in Belfast.

Republic has signed for a 10,000 sq ft store over two levels in the former Zavvi store on the corner of Royal Avenue and Berry Street. The new store is scheduled to open in spring.

Poundland recently opened its first Northern Irish store at CastleCourt. Other recent store openings include furniture company Flexa, jewellery retailer Gems and Costa Coffee.

Tim Whitworth, CEO at Republic, said: “We are delighted with the opportunity to open our very first Republic store in Ireland at Belfast’s CastleCourt shopping centre and aim to establish a reputation here as the top destination for fashion with our unique ‘house-of-brands’ model and credentials that set us clearly apart from the competition.”
