Westmark picked to develop Bristol’s Cabot House site

Bristol council has appointed Westmark Developments as preferred developer for its city centre Cabot House site.

The building, opposite the city’s central library, has stood empty and derelict for more than 10 years.

Westmark Developments is proposing a mixed-use scheme of 100,000 sq ft of offices, 79 homes ‑ 30% of which will be affordable housing ‑ and 340 parking spaces.

A council spokesman said: “Exact details of the deal have yet to be finalised and the negotiations between the council and Westmark will now start to agree terms, with a view to signing a contract by August this year.

“The scheme from Westmark offers a real opportunity to transform this area of the city centre and bring new jobs and housing to Bristol.”
