Plans for a 260,000 sq ft film studio to the west of Dublin have been given the green light.
Paul Chesney, former European boss of Universal Pictures and now the chief executive and co-founder of newly formed Hammerlake Studios, is confident the campus at Lough Sheever Corporate Park in Robinstown, Mullingar, will be up and running by 2024, with film crews on site.
But first County Westmeath councillors must vote to agree on changing land zoning in September.
The plan is to grow the campus to 460,000 sq ft in time, making it Ireland’s largest studio. By comparison, Troy Studios in Limerick covers 340,000 sq ft.
