Westminster city council has appointed Ed Watson as executive director of growth, planning and housing.
Watson has been director of culture and environment at Camden council since 2014.
He also spent five years as assistant director of planning and regeneration at Camden and has held roles as planning manager for the Local Government Association and head of developmental control at Lambeth council.
Watson’s responsibilities at Westminster will include growth, planning, conservation and heritage, housing and infrastructure, as well as managing the council’s property portfolio and delivering its economic strategy on employment and business growth.
He will report to council chief executive Charlie Parker.
Watson said: “I am delighted to be joining Westminster at this exciting time and really looking forward to being part of the council’s executive leadership team, working with members and partners to deliver the City for All vision.”
