Debbie Jackson has been appointed the new executive director of growth, planning and housing for Westminster City Council.
She will join the council in the summer after spending more than eight years at the Greater London Authority, where she was promoted to the role of director for the built environment in January.
At the GLA she led on the creation and development of its regeneration function and is the lead officer for the London Economic Action Partnership, where she is responsible for the development and delivery of the £435m Local Growth Fund.
Jackson started her career with the council in 1997, where she worked for seven years before joining Lambeth council in 2004.
She also spent more than two years as a project executive for the London Development Agency.
For the interim period Greg Ward will continue to lead the growth, planning and housing team.
